Oh how I love to see my loved ones again in a cool place of this planet after many months apart! This time it was my boyfriend’s turn. He came from Germany to visit Barcelona yesterday. So, today, I went to work, and afterwards, I quickly changed and went to Las Ramblas to meet him in front of El Mercado de la Boqueria. I waited and waited and finally found him! We walked around La Boqueria and walked through the neighborhood called El Raval to get to a restaurant where we ate amazing tapas and got updates on each other 🙂 Then, we walked to the metro to get to the beach and soaked up the afternoon sun for a bit. At about 6:30 p.m., I had to leave because I had a cooking class scheduled for today with the Barcelona SAE group (other interns).
I completely and utterly enjoyed the cooking class and strongly recommend it to anyone who has some -significant- extra cash on their pocket on their next trip to Barcelona. (In my case, it was included in the cost of the program). We first had a little introduction about what we were going to be doing and then we started cooking! The -very local- menu for the night was Salmorejo, Tortilla de Patatas, Pan con Tomate, Paella, and Crema Catalana. Since we were a big group, we divided the tasks and took turns on the longer-cooking things, like the Paella. Plus, most of us wanted to take a picture “cooking Paella” :p. For the Crema Catalana, we all flamed our own; some were burnt, some were amazing, but the crema in itself was delicious. I did not only enjoyed the process of cooking everything, I enjoyed the friendly people, the utterly nice chef, and, of course, the food. It was a great experience.
After the class, I walked around the Gothic neighborhood to go find my boyfriend, who is staying in a nearby hostel. I met him at the lobby and then, we walked to a really cool restaurant where he had an amazing steak. The restaurant was cool because you could really chill out. To end the night, he walked me to my apartment and we said our goodbyes for the night. I’m sure this will continue to be an amazing week.
¡Ay! ¡Cómo me gusta ver a mis seres queridos de nuevo en un lugar chivo (cool) de este planeta después de muchos meses! Esta vez fue el turno de mi novio. Él vino de Alemania para visitar Barcelona ayer, por lo que hoy, me fui a trabajar, y después, me cambié rápidamente y me fui a Las Ramblas para encontrarme con él frente a El Mercado de la Boquería. Esperé y esperé y ¡finalmente lo encontré! Nos dimos una vuelta por La Boqueria y caminamos por el barrio llamado El Raval para llegar a un restaurante donde comimos tapas increíbles y nos actualizamos el uno con el otro 🙂 Después, caminamos hasta el metro para llegar a la playa y tomamos el sol de la tarde por un ratito. A eso de las 18:30, me tuve que ir porque tenía una clase de cocina prevista para hoy con el grupo de Barcelona SAE (otros pasantes/practicantes).
Disfrute todo de la clase de cocina y la recomiendo encarecidamente a cualquiera que tenga algo de dinero extra en su bolsillo -bastante dinero- en su próximo viaje a Barcelona. (En mi caso, estaba incluido en el coste del programa). Primero tuvimos una pequeña introducción sobre lo que íbamos a hacer y luego, ¡empezamos a cocinar! El menú -muy local- para la noche era Salmorejo, Tortilla de Patatas, Pan con Tomate, Paella y Crema Catalana. Como éramos un grupo grande, nos dividimos las tareas y turnamos en las cosas de más larga cocción, como la paella. Además, la mayoría de nosotros queríamos tomarnos una foto “cocinando paella” :p. Para la Crema Catalana, todos flameamos la nuestra; algunas quedaron quemadas, otras quedaron increíbles, pero la crema en sí estaba deliciosa. Yo no sólo disfruté el proceso de cocinar todo, me gustó la gente amable, la chef súper agradable y, por supuesto, la comida. Fue una gran experiencia.
Después de la clase, caminé por el barrio gótico para ir a buscar a mi novio que se alojaba en un hostal cercano. Nos encontramos en el vestíbulo y luego, caminamos a un restaurante muy chivo (cool) donde el se comió un bistec increíble. El restaurante era súper chivo (cool) porque de verdad te podías relajar. Para finalizar la noche, él me acompañó a mi apartamento y nos despedimos. Estoy segura que esta seguirá siendo una semana increíble.

Hasta el momento he aprendido diversas cosas interesantes leyendo este blog. Y he aprendido bajo que condiciones leer, jajaja, siempre debo leerlo habiendo comido algo previamente ya que mencionas mucho al respecto, y debo ir a la cocina por algo cada vez que leo y no eh consumido algo antes jaja.
