After about 7 hours on the bus, I finally made it to Lyon! A new -unexpected- destination to add to my travel list šŸ™‚

My sweet Ā sweet friend, who works as Au Pair in Lyon, came to the bus station to pick me up and we then went to her host family’s house, which is GORGEOUS! Remember Beauty and the Beast? Remember the little french villa kinda town where she lived? Yep, the town where my friend lives is basically the same. Just look at the photos! Also, her host family is super nice and the kids love her, which was kind of surprising to me just because my friend was never the crazy-about-kids kinda of girl, but she’s such a great Au Pair! The wheels on the bus go round and round all the way to Lyoooon! This will be a quick entry because nothing much really happened today… other than absolute stress while planning my weekend trip to Lyon, France to see my childhood friend again. Haha!

I went to work per usual in the morning, we had our usual 11 a.m. coffee break that I enjoy so much, and I went back to the apartment at 2 p.m. to settle my plans. I already have my bus ticket to get to Lyon, France, but I was unable to purchase the one to get back because my card is not working! (This was part of the reason why I ended up not going to London). As I imagined, today was a slow day… a slow depressing day. NOT! It would be impossible for me to have a depressing day in Barcelona! But my day wasn’t filled with as much joy as usual because Carlos officially left with no plans of coming back soon.

I woke up earlier than usual to get to Plaza Catalunya to meet Carlos before he left. Thankfully, I was able to get there with enough time to say our proper goodbyes. I joined him in the line to ride the Aerobus, and when it was his turn to go, we hugged and said our goodbyes. I watched him go, and then I had to get to the metro station to get to work. I was super tired because these last few days have been wonderful but super busy, too. Continue reading

My Tuesday started as another usual work day: struggle to get out of bed, eat a quick breakfast, dress nicely (just cause I love to wear work clothes), and jump unto the bus to head to the agency. Lately I have been working on preparing presentations for clients and meeting with some of them, which I love! Experiences like those give me great exposure to the business world.

After work, I went home and cooked Salmon… and it came out great! I know Salmon can be delicate, but I managed. Afterwards, I grabbed some strawberries and headed to the metro station to get to Las Ramblas and meet Carlos there. This time, he had planned the whole day. Continue reading

Day 29 – The Sweetest Unfortunate Surprise

So, the day arrived. The day that I’m left alone again. The day that it all became gray… Ok, I’m being extremely dramatic, hehe, but really, it was not supposed to be a fun day. I woke up super early to get ready for work, and have enough time to meet Carlos at Plaza Catalunya to say our goodbyes. We met at around 8:15, and he joined the line for the Aerobus to take him to the airport. I waited with him until he had to get on the bus and, with a hug, we said our goodbyes… and that was it. Except it wasn’t!

I rode the metro to get to work, started working on client presentations, and at around 10 a.m. I got a text from Carlos saying he had lost his flight. WAIT WHAT? HOW?! Well, the Aerobus encountered horrible and unusual traffic on the way to the airport and he wasn’t able to make it on time. He had flown with a budget airline, and so, he had to buy a new ticket. I helped him from work as much as I could and, after analyzing everything, he told me he would stay until Wednesday. And so, this -very unfortunate- surprise worked in our favor.Ā  Continue reading
