The wheels on the bus go round and round all the way to Lyoooon! This will be a quick entry because nothing much really happened today… other than absolute stress while planning my weekend trip to Lyon, France to see my childhood friend again. Haha!

I went to work per usual in the morning, we had our usual 11 a.m. coffee break that I enjoy so much, and I went back to the apartment at 2 p.m. to settle my plans. I already have my bus ticket to get to Lyon, France, but I was unable to purchase the one to get back because my card is not working! (This was part of the reason why I ended up not going to London). As I imagined, today was a slow day… a slow depressing day. NOT! It would be impossible for me to have a depressing day in Barcelona! But my day wasn’t filled with as much joy as usual because Carlos officially left with no plans of coming back soon.

I woke up earlier than usual to get to Plaza Catalunya to meet Carlos before he left. Thankfully, I was able to get there with enough time to say our proper goodbyes. I joined him in the line to ride the Aerobus, and when it was his turn to go, we hugged and said our goodbyes. I watched him go, and then I had to get to the metro station to get to work. I was super tired because these last few days have been wonderful but super busy, too. Continue reading

My Tuesday started as another usual work day: struggle to get out of bed, eat a quick breakfast, dress nicely (just cause I love to wear work clothes), and jump unto the bus to head to the agency. Lately I have been working on preparing presentations for clients and meeting with some of them, which I love! Experiences like those give me great exposure to the business world.

After work, I went home and cooked Salmon… and it came out great! I know Salmon can be delicate, but I managed. Afterwards, I grabbed some strawberries and headed to the metro station to get to Las Ramblas and meet Carlos there. This time, he had planned the whole day. Continue reading

Today I woke up feeling pretty, so I decided to wear a nice blouse, black pants, and my prettiest -most uncomfortable- heels. I took the bus to work and when I got there, my boss asked me, “are you not going?.” I guessed she noticed my confused expression and so she said, “to the ‘Impulsando Pymes Conference‘” (boosting Small and Medium Enterprises Conference). Whoooops!!! I told her I had forgotten and she told me I still had enough time to make it. I ended up walking to the metro station, which was about 7 min. away, and got to the Gloriés metro station to walk another 15 min. trying to find the Barcelona Growth Center, all in my pretty -uncomfortable- heels. I was in pain, but at least I looked like a professional woman. Beauty is pain, right? (not really). I ended being sat down next to my coworkers, which was a nice surprise. The conference focused on different managerial/entrepreneurial topics, which were very interesting to me, but not very new for Cocoa, considering the company is already making use of most of the services mentioned in the conference. To reward ourselves, my coworker and I went for some coffee before heading back to the office. It was nice to see this district of the city and the Torre Agbar, which is a famous Barcelona landmark.  Continue reading
